It’s natural for children to ask questions. You will find that your child will reach a point where they ask questions about pretty much everything and anything, like why the sky is blue and where they came from. It’s the way that they learn about the world around them and while it may start to become annoying, it’s important that you nurture their curiosity. There are many ways in which you can do this. Below are a few that were shared with us by independent schools in NYC.
Ask Them
If you’re afraid that your child’s not really displaying that level of thinking, there are ways in which you can bring it out. You can start by asking the questions. They don’t need to be deep and profound, just questions that get them formulating their own thoughts and ideas. For example, you might ask them about how they think shadows work. You can also go and do your own research to answer these questions which will help them in building their general knowledge.

Never Lie
It’s a bad idea to lie and that as well to children. It shows them that they can’t trust you and can affect your relationship. No one has the answer to everything and in fact, it can help to teach your child how important learning is. If you don’t know the answer to something, be honest and use it as an opportunity to learn together.
Educational Trips
Museums and events like science fairs are great places to spark a child’s curiosity. They can see amazing inventions and discoveries that others have made and be drawn into learning more about them.
