Curiosity didn’t really kill the cat. It is a phrase taught to show that you shouldn’t be too nosy as it can get you into trouble. However, curiosity, especially in children, is what takes individuals from the bottom to the top. Curiosity is what drives us to learn new things and gives us the motivation to seek new knowledge which is essential for when it comes to education as well. It is vital to encourage little ones to explore their curiosity from a very early age as it further aids with their development. Here is some advice from a kindergarten in Wandsworth on how to nurture your child’s curiosity.
Change their routine from time to time
Children need a solid daily routine, there is no doubt, but it is worth changing it up slightly every now and again to help stimulate their brain and provoke curiosity. I can be something as simple as changing the seat that they sit in at breakfast or using a new shampoo on them. This will allow them to understand that there is more to what they see and gives them the chance to determine what they like.
Surprises
Happy surprises are actually a great way to help enhance a child’s curiosity. Simple things such as adding a new snack in their lunch box, taking them to the park after school or surprising them with a loved one will do the trick.

Allow them to be a child
Many times, parents will constantly have something to say about what their child is doing. This could be telling them not to make too much mess when they play or telling them to constantly be careful. Whilst love and protection will always be there, controlling your child too much may lead to them refraining from curiosity altogether. Allow them to get a little mucky from time to time as this will prove to be beneficial in the long run.
